Establishing biodiversity baseline information

A number of studies on key aspects of the Setiu Wetlands are underway and several others planned, to gather information on the wetlands’ biodiversity and ecological functions, and to identify critical conservation areas within the Setiu Wetlands that require protection.

WWF-Malaysia’s experience from its many years of involvement in painted terrapin and marine turtles hatchery work facilitated further improvements to Setiu’s hatchery programme during the last nesting season (May to October).
