Assessment of Ecological Habitat Requirements

Special habitat requirements of these tree dwellers

Orang-utans live, eat and nest high up in the forest canopy, seldom venturing to the ground except to move
The orang-utan has special habitat requirements compared to other wildlife living in the forests. They live, eat and nest high up in the forest canopy, seldom venturing to the ground except to move between the trees. For orang-utan conservation, it is important that we know the full extent of their ecological habitat requirements to live and procreate. This project focuses on the relationship between orang-utan distribution and habitat type (based on forest type, forest locality and quality pattern). For example, where or what the forest pattern is with higher orang-utan densities.
