This component aims to protect and manage the hawksbill turtle population in Malacca and their key habitats, through scientific and socially acceptable measures that can be sustained in the long-term by government, local communities, and other stakeholders.

Satellite Tracking of Hawksbill Turtles
WWF-Malaysia is using satellite telemetry to track hawksbills on the journey back to their feeding grounds. Marine turtles are only dependent on the beach for egg incubation and spend most of their lifetime in coastal waters, feeding in coral reefs.
