LIVING LANDSCAPES APPROACH:
PROTECT, PRODUCE, RESTORE

The Sabah Landscapes Programme combines conservation and sustainable development by integrating the protection of forests, wildlife and rivers, with RSPO certified production of oil palm, and restoration of ecological corridors and riparian reserves. Through the programme, WWF-Malaysia will work in three priority landscapes such as Tabin, Tawau and Lower Sugut. Subsequent conservation efforts will also continue in Central Forest, Kalabakan and Ulu Padas-Nabawan landscapes.

CONSERVATION TARGETS

OUTCOME 1:
ZERO LOSS OF NATURAL HABITAT

Forests and species is protected and effectively managed.

OUTCOME 2:
ZERO EXTINCTION OF WILDLIFE

Degraded forests and land are restored and rehabilitated, fragmented forests are connected.

OUTCOME 3:
HALVING THE NEGATIVE IMPACTS OF PRODUCTION AND CONSUMPTION

Production and consumption is sustainable.

OUTCOME 4:
ENABLING CONDITIONS

Conservation planning and applied science to support the implementation of integrated land-use management statewide.
